Water Soluble Sticker Label 

Yes. These labels dissolve under running water of any temperature without leaving residue or clogging drains. Wash containers with these labels stuck on them in the dishwasher — and voila! the label will safely dissolve. They are made from wood cellulose, also called wood stickers and are non-toxic, which makes them great for Kindergarten, School and Daycare name tags stickers or admission visitor stickers for Museums & Zoos. The stickers are silicone free and FDA & FSC approved. Use them as fruit stickers or on disposable food containers or recyclable packaging. The hospitality industry uses this sticker for toilet paper roll stickers and hand soap labels to safely dissolve in water without clogging drains.

We print on award winning energy saving HP Indigo digital printers using toner ink TUV Austria Certified for Industrial and Home Compost. The adhesive is a modified acrylic emulsion adhesive designed to dissolve in water and has not been certified compostable. You can order blank or pre-printed in any size to run in your thermal transfer printer. The stock comes in white.

True Story:

The Nebraska Game and Parks Department had a problem. They wanted to disperse seeds in areas of Nebraska burned by forest fires. The idea was to use local wildlife as the means of conveyance. The animals would eat the prepared seed blocks and as they foraged in the mountain’s, and deposit the seeds with a nice healthy dose of nitrogen! The seed blocks, made with molasses, needed a form of identification but just for a short period of time. Plan It Green Printing suggested and printed dissolvable label stickers for the blocks. Under rain and snow the labels would dissolve. A great alternative to a plastic label.

FDA compliant with 21 CFR 175.105 regulations concerning indirect food contact. Free from persistent organic pollutants in conjunction with EU No. 757/2010. Forest Stewardship Council Certified Forest Management and Chain of Custody. The material used do not contain Animal Tissue Derivatives, as defined by the EU Commission Directive EU722/2012. Free from restricted and harmful substances to humans and the Environment. The stock is 100% bio-based, according to ASTM D686-12.

Look & Feel

Looking at this sticker, you would not know, that it can disappear right in front of your eyes like The Invisible Man. Well in this case, you need to hold it under running water. The sticker feels like copy paper. It is lightweight. You can write on it without smudging.

What most printers don’t tell you

Because this is a porous label meant to dissolve in running water, it has a shorter shelf-life. The adhesive will not last as long.  Depending on how it is stored, the life is up to about 12 months.. Store them in dry airless vacuum and protect them from light.

The kraft liner has a silicone backing and in a few cases may be recycled with ‘lined’ corrugated boxes. Please discuss this with your recycler.
